This is our first weekend home again after vacation. I think we’re almost caught up on sleep and feeling human again 🙂 I’ve got most of the pictures from vacation together in one lightroom archive and ready to work on. Loads of pictures to be worked through but I’ll start posting here as I make progress…I expect quite a few postings over time.
This was a somewhat different photographic vacation from previous trips. I picked up a 100mm-400mm lens for my SLR last winter and wanted to give it a spin. This resulted in many more cell phone and small camera pictures (for anything that needed a wide angle) and lots of long and tight shots with the SLR as swapping out that monster for something wider was a bit of a hassle. Overall I think it worked out pretty well but only the final results will tell the tale.
This year we split our trip into four segments:
- May 5 – May 14 we spent at the Wilderness Lodge in Walt DIsney World.
- May 14-May 17 we were at the Inn at Cocoa Beach between Disney and the Disney Cruise.
- May 17 – May 20 we did our first ‘double dip’ Disney Cruise to castaway key.
- May 20 – May 22 we spent our last few days of vacation trying out Disney’s Boardwalk resort and taking one last spin through Epcot, Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.
I’ll be starting with some of the cruise pictures as I handed the folks at our cruise table the URL for the blog and those seem like the best ‘starters’ in this case. Once I’m done with those I’ll likely slide back to the beginning of the trip and move forward.
As always, the focus here is on ‘pretty pictures’ rather than trip travelogue or personal shots…though I won’t promise to skip ’em all…
