\"\"<\/a>I’ve found the various Effective C++<\/a> books (and the broader ‘effective’ series in general) to be a useful resource for brushing up on the finer points of best practices. They cover the details that a professional developer needs to understand and skip the language learning bits.<\/p>\n

C++ has grown dramatically over the last ten years after a long ‘fallow’ stretch where little change occurred. I’ve done some work in C++ 2011 as shortly after starting at KMC I spent the better part of a year creating a QNX based service to manage clinical results data for an instrument that KMC was developing.<\/p>\n

I’m now inclined to spend the time to dive a bit deeper into the new features that the 2011, 2014 and 2017 revision of the language and its runtime library offer. As I dig deeper, I’ll post here…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
