Since before vacation I’ve been working my way through Neil Asher’s ‘Polity’ stories. I have read scattered volumes in the loose series in the past but never started at some coherent point and worked my way through. So far I’ve read these volumes and I’m part of \u00a0the way through ‘Line War’.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I find them to be fun, light-weight space-opera in the modern style. A bit similar feel to Ian Banks culture novels with a bit more military spin. Things have been a bit hectic and a quick, energetic romp through space is what I’ve been looking for in my reading.<\/p>\n

This universe has the usual trappings of modern light space opera. FTL drives, AI controlled ships, nano-tech the is slightly magical in its capabilities and lots of action and derring do.<\/p>\n

Finished Line War last night. Overall a good read through these if you’re looking for light space opera with a satisfying conclusion at the end.<\/p>\n

I’ve got another semi-parallel series I’ll probably start into once I get done with some other volumes on my backlog.<\/p>\n
