\"Jim<\/a> I loved the Dresden Files books by Butcher so I have now finally gotten around to starting his new series, ‘The Cinder Spires’ and I’m about a third of the way through The Aeronaut’s Windlass.<\/p>\n

This is not an urban fantasy like his previous series (Dresden). This is set in a world where wooden ships fly through the air using some sort of levitation crystals. Humans live on spires that rise through a cloud layer below which human life can not exist. It looks like a Horatio Hornblower with magic setting. So far it is decent reading, but hasn’t grabbed me by the eyes and held me to the page.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
