Replacement Pixel-C is almost ready for action…

The replacement for my original Pixel-C is now just about ready to use. Application are reloaded and updates applied.

Kindle books are on it. There was some sort of hiccup when loading the books initially. A handful came up with a ‘!’ on them and would not load or reload. I found that the only thing that helped was going to the ‘carousel’ and tapping to load the affected books from there. Once I did that they seemed to work properly. As this is a WiFi only tablet, I need to have everything I’m likely to want pre-loaded before I leave home.

I’ve been quite happy with the Pixel-C aside from the screen failure that caused this replacement. I do miss the stylus support that my Samsung tablet has, but that doesn’t get used all that often so I can just grab the other tablet at need. The Pixel-C is light, fast and at 64 GB of storage is big enough to meet most of my needs.

I do hope that the current lull in android tablet interest doesn’t kill off (or severely damage) the eco-system. I find these tablets with long battery life, decent processing power and nice screens to be a very good fit for my mobile needs.

I am starting to look at surface tablets for the next hop on the tablet front. They seem to be the only bright spot (admittedly a windows bright spot) out there for a decent tablet with a stylus and all the trimmings. At the moment I’m not travelling about much and so the Pixel-C and Galaxy Pro 12 are it.
