Replacement Pixel-C tablet is here

The replacement for my failing google Pixel-C tablet arrived yesterday afternoon. I turned the old one around by packing it back in the box that the replacement came in and Lorna sent it on its way this morning.

So far it has been a pretty painless process. It took a bit of work to run through the steps they asked for to prove that the issue wasn’t software of configuration and it took a while longer to pull the many gigabytes of files I had stored on the device off. This time around, I’ll make sure to keep a set of backups on my desktop machine just in case.

The new tablet is sitting on my desk at home charging up and running installs and updates to get its software back in sync with my google account.

Tonight I’ll evaluate where its at and probably start loading files back on so that I can start using it as my primary tablet again. My 12 inch Samsung tablet in ok, but it is heavier and slower than the Pixel-C and the Pixel is large enough to make most reading (even technical stuff that expects a larger page) comfortable.
